Jericho Rose – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the country pop duo, Jericho Rose, shares one of their stories from being on the road. You can check out the story, after the break.

So our crazy tour story involves our first trip to France, and our first time playing a festival. We are a pop-country duo that had been hilariously labeled by our new French friends as “Swamp Pop” – MUCH better with a French accent. We had been doing some press and interviews leading up to the festival. One of the promo events we did was a really cool exclusive acoustic concert INSIDE the hanger of a member’s only private airplane club. This was already SO cool-tons of photo ops with incredible, unique, and historic planes. We were loving it! Such a cool impromptu venue in a kind of middle of nowhere part of Northern France.

We were all set up, playing an acoustic set with guitar, vocals, and cajon. They had run a bunch of extension cords, built a temporary stage- the whole 9. Our set had about 7 songs. About 4 songs in, it started POURING rain. We heard it just pounding on the tin roof above us. They cranked us up to be heard over the storm. Literally, in the LAST chorus of our LAST song, the power blew. Not knowing what else to do, we just kept playing. The crowd started singing along with us! It was hilarious but SO cool to just be playing music, in an airplane hanger, in a foreign country, IN THE DARK. We were honestly shocked they knew the song! It was such an incredible moment that went from “OH SH*T!” to “OH COOL!” to “THAT WAS AMAZING!”
