Jerm - DREAM TOUR

In this Dream Tour segment, the alternative artist, Jerm, reveals who he would want on his ultimate tour lineup. You can check out their picks below:

My name is Jerm. I’m a singer, songwriter, and producer from York, Pennsylvania, and today I’ll be going over my dream festival lineup. As an artist, I listen to a lot of different music, ranging from the Sabrina Carpenters of the world all the way down to the depths of the underground, making it impossible for me to just stick to one genre. With that being said, my festival will be broken up into two days, each representing a different sound.

Day one consists of my favorite rock and alternative artists. For starters, my headliner would be Nirvana. While it’s not exactly a unique take to have Nirvana as my favorite band of all time, my love for Nirvana stretches a lot deeper than the music. Kurt Cobain is one of the biggest influences on my character as well as my songwriting. For co-headliner, I’m gonna have to go with The Cure. While the contrast between Nirvana and The Cure is quite stark, man, can they write a song. Robert Smith’s ability to build songs layer by layer is something so admirable to me. Songs like “A Night Like This” and “Doing The Unstuck” are some of my all-time favorites. Opening acts would include bands like Alexsucks and Sitting on Stacy, bands that, in my opinion, in ten years will be some little rock kid’s “Dream Festival” headliner—they’re just not big enough yet.

One thing I learned from my dad growing up is that if you limit yourself to just one style of music, you’re going to miss out on so many great songs. Day two will consist of some of my favorite acts from other genres. My headliners for day two will be Clairo and Elliott Smith. I’m a really big fan of the singer-songwriter genre. The ability to sit down with mainly a guitar and minimal production and make entertaining and introspective songs is an amazing talent and something I strive for. Songs like “Blouse” by Clairo and “Ballad of Big Nothing” by Elliott Smith would be incredible to hear with the artist in front of you. For openers, I would go with artists like Glaive. Glaive is truly one of the most versatile artists I’ve ever listened to, with songs ranging anywhere from hyperpop to rap, and even the previously mentioned singer-songwriter style.

Thank you all for reading about my dream festival lineup.
