Jessy Fury - TOUR TIPS

In this Tour Tips segment, the pop rock artist, Jessy Fury, recommends advice for being a musician on the road. You can check out the tips below:

The first key to a successful tour is putting in the hours of practice before you hit the road. Make sure you are extremely well-rehearsed—not just with the songs, but also with the transitions between them, the dialogue, and any special moments you want to create during the show. The more prepared you are, the smoother and more engaging your performance will be.

Another important aspect is your physical fitness. Make sure your health is in order, especially if you’re a singer. A great way to prepare is by practicing your set while running on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike. Sing full voice because you’ll be sweating a lot on stage, and having peak fitness will help you maintain your energy throughout the show.

Lastly, prioritize both your mental and physical health. Focus on mindfulness, meditation, and overall wellness. You want to avoid catching a cold, as being sick on tour can make performing miserable—for both the audience and you. Be prepared by talking to a doctor about having a Z-Pack or some form of antibiotics on hand. Singers may also consider carrying prednisone to reduce vocal swelling (but be careful with that—you never want to overuse it). You should also carry a nebulizer to keep your vocal cords hydrated. Traveling, especially on airplanes, can be dehydrating, and the last part of your body to rehydrate is your vocal cords. Keeping them in top shape is crucial for a strong performance every night.
