Jillian Steele – FIRST CONCERT EVER

The first concert I ever went to was Hilary Duff. I went with my best friend at the time and our moms were with us. We were 9 and we had our hair blown out for it. We got there and it was so big and loud. Our seats were on the side and I swear every time she walked to our side of the stage she waved at me.
We knew every word to every song and were screaming non-stop. My mom and her friend made it really fun for us and I remember they snuck in some wine for themselves. They really got into it.
Some of the moms were just sitting there, probably with earplugs, but ours were singing and dancing along; making it a lot more fun. When her last song comes security became less intense and out moms told us to go “rush the stage”. We were small enough to squeeze through the crowd until we were up there right next to the stage. I remember looking back at our moms and they were waving. Hillary came over and touched us… we jumped up and down. No, it has become a ritual to rush the stage at any concert we go to. We did it with Cheetah Girls, Avril Lavigne, and even Miley Cirus….
I have learned over the years to make the security guard your friend…. There is always a point when they will let you on the floor. Going to concerts have always been a big part of my life and I love the way each artist has their own way to try and connect with the audience.
