1. “Don’t eat the Mexican food.” This one really only applies to the Americans touring Europe. The U.S. has some of the best Mexican food in the world. Europe does not. Just don’t expect to find a burrito or taco after your show. If you want fast food, get a doner kebab, and if not, try something new. There’s good food all over the place.
2. “Seats are for asses, not bags.” This one comes from Will, our guitarist. It comes from living in the tight quarters of tour buses, vans, and back stages all over the world. Learn to live out of a backpack, but don’t leave that backpack in everyone’s way. Space is limited, have your shit together, don’t over pack, don’t make a mess. Going on tour is like going to space…don’t bring anything you don’t absolutely need.
3. “If you get it, go see a doctor and get rid of it” – Another good one from Will. Have fun but stay healthy. Never pass up a free meal, but never pass up a free drink either. Party, when you get the chance, but also, sleep well when you get the chance. If one person is sick, the whole tour is sick. If one person has to stop touring, it could stop the entire tour.
4. “Bring every pair of underwear you own” – Shitting and showering can sometimes be difficult situations, but as long you have some toilet paper to shit behind the venue, and a fresh pair of underwear to change into after a show, you can maybe make it another day.
5. “Play well with others” – Try to get along with the people you’re on tour with it. Respect everyone, have fun. You are a crew of people working, living, playing music, and partying together. Make it flow.
