Okay so here’s my ultimate dream tour ever…
There’s nothing better than a show that brings people together through joy, commiseration, and a little throwback. Random? Absolutely. But totally up my alley. I would want all of those who’ve influenced my own music to lead up to a challenging but hopefully energetic headline by myself. The best part of it all would be that the lineup is a total mystery to the audience…
First, we would have Kesha opening it up with a 20 minute bang. Lots of glitter everywhere and just as she’s performing Tik Tok, her final song of the set, Lady Gaga (circa 2009 Monster Ball) joins her on stage in a meat dress and Tik Tok gets mixed into Just Dance, and our queen takes it from there. She performs some of her greatest early 2000’s hits and at the end just as she’s walking off stage, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Rob Trujillo, and Lars Ulrich walk on. They give her some praise and the crowd is going wild not knowing what else to expect! Obviously, they open with Enter Sandman and there’s some insane pyro going on when Lars hits the crash cymbal EVERY TIME. Once’ their set is done, the stage goes black and the spotlight turns toward a smaller stage with an orchestra and Lana Del Rey on a swing that seems to be coming down from heaven just for her. She opens her 15 minute set with Video Games and the crowd starts to cry and hold hands (as they would typically just at the mere sight of her). She finishes with Young and Beautiful and says to the crowd, “speaking of young and beautiful, are you ready for Kayla Diamond?” When the crowd is hyped up and has wiped their tears, I walk out onto the stage and join her in singing Cola, and then continue onto my set. But the BEST part of this show is the finale when all of the performers come out onto the stage and sing Teenage Wasteland by The Who (don’t ask me why it would just be awesome).
Entirely random, but this is definitely the tour of my dreams.
