In 2013, my mom surprised me with tickets to my first concert ever. I remember her really building up anticipation for the surprise. She said it was something I had never done before and something I would really love. I totally thought she was going to take me skydiving at the ripe age of 10, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn I was going to see THE Big Time Rush in concert with Victoria Justice.

I was absolutely ecstatic to go to this concert. Yet, I was way more excited to see Victoria Justice because at this point in my life, I really did not like boys. We actually left half way through Big Time Rush’s set to beat the traffic (sorry!). Anyways, I was really convinced that Victoria Justice was going to pull me on stage to sing with her and that would be my key to stardom.

I showed up to the concert wearing matching tutus and fedoras with my cousin, Ellie. It’s no wonder she didn’t ask me to join her on stage. While that was a major disappointment, I do remember falling in love with live music. I tried to get as close to the stage as I possibly could. I remember getting such an adrenaline rush watching her perform on stage. I still get that adrenaline rush at every concert I go to. I can’t thank my mom enough for introducing me to live music!
