KONGREGATION. Pre Show Rituals.

Before I hit the stage, I have a few rituals that allow me to release my beast and give my best to the KONGREGATION.

I warm up my voice with good vocal technique and once I’m feeling good, I grunt and shout and sing a few lines from a vocally challenging song. Usually in a bathroom or somewhere I can lock the door and pretend no one can hear me.

I like be alone and talk to myself. Finding those few quiet moments before the storm to come to peace with my ego, so that once show starts, I can be uninhibited and free with the audience from the first breath until the final note.

I pray. I ask a power higher than myself to be with me. Sometimes it’s G-d. Sometimes it’s Jim Morrison. Most of the time, it’s both.
