My dream tour would be Coheed and Cambria, Gym Class Heroes and The Roots. And I, of course, would like to be on there as well! I’d love to be an opener on a tour like that. I know that sounds like a very off the wall mixture and might not mesh well, but trust me it would. The amount of musicianship alone would be so incredible.

Coheed and Cambria are some of the best musicians I know. Their live show is absolutely insane. They just keep getting better and better. I’ve seen them so many times. When I was in high school I saw them at my favorite venue The Tabernacle in Atlanta. and I swear it was almost like a religious experience. Years later, I’ve grown pretty close to Josh and the rest of the band, and still, unbiasedly I would say they are one of the best live shows I’ve seen. I was recently featured on Josh from Coheed’s, solo hip-hop side project and it was such an honor to be a part of that. They have an appreciation for hip-hop as well as rock, so I see everyone on the tour getting along and appreciating each others music.

Gym Class Heroes are one of my favorite bands. They (as well as The Roots) inspired me to start a band when I was 21. Vonnegutt definitely took a lot of inspiration from GCH and I loved being in a band. They showed me that you could rap in a live band, and not make it corny or something like back in the Nu-Metal days where vocalists were “rapping.” They showed me you could be a legitimate emcee and make a very hip-hop/pop hybrid of a sound, and make it work. That’s the important thing, I’m pretty sure there have only been a handful of bands with rappers as vocalists because SO MANY things can go wrong in that mixture. But they got it. They made it work! Their live show is incredible as well, I’ve seen them multiple times over the years. They do such a great job as a band and Travis as an emcee/frontman for including all elements of music and engaging the crowd. I was asked to add some verses to a couple songs a few years ago for The Papercut Chronicles II. I know they recorded 100 songs so unfortunately, the ones I was on didn’t make the cut. But somewhere out there is a demo of a Gym Class Heroes and Kyle Lucas track!

And last, but certainly not least I would include The Roots. I don’t know them or have any connection to them what so ever. I just am such a huge fan! Black Thought is one of my top 5 emcees of all time! And every album The Roots have done I’ve been obsessed with, which is a lot of music cause they have like 10 albums or something crazy!! Haha, I’ve seen them live So many times, and like Coheed and GCH, they are beyond incredible musicians. The horn section, with Questlove on drums and Captain Kirk on guitar, is unmatched. And I know they are a household name since Jimmy Fallon has them as his house band on his late-night show, so it would be awesome to see them back in tour mode and included on a bill like this!
