In 2017 I toured New England for my debut album with fellow Berklee grads. We went down to NYC and then up to Vermont with many stops in between. At our third stop, we played a show in Worcester, MA’s rock club, Ralph’s Diner.
The first couple of songs went really well. We were rocking out, and having a blast. During one of the more deep emotional songs in the set, I had an acoustic guitar solo. Right in the middle of the solo, my string broke with a loud “ping”… an integral string for the rest of my solo. I tried to play through it best I could and then BOOM… another string pops off along with the bridge pin.
The bridge pin goes flinging into the crowd, bouncing off people left and right. At the end of the night, no one could find it and to this day on my acoustic, I have 5 black bridge pins and one white one. I haven’t had anything fling into the crowd since thank God (haha).
