1. Always have food/snacks/drinks in the car – Life on the road can be long & tiring. You can’t always stop on the way, and even if you do there is not always much to eat (especially if you are vegetarian). It’s a good idea to have some fresh vegetables, bread, and snacks for when you’re hungry and stuck in traffic. Also, whenever food is being served on the road – EAT IT. You can never be sure when it’ll happen again!
2. You don’t have to drink every night – Touring is like an ongoing party that never stops and it’s great! But from time to time it’s OK to be the party pooper & go to sleep early. After all – you are the one that has to drive 6 hours the day after. Also, even if you do drink, don’t drink too much. It’s not fun waking up not knowing where you are and having no memory of the night before. Most importantly, don’t get drunk before you go on stage, the crowd deserves to see you at your best.
3. Take good advantage of your days off – The world is so beautiful, there is no better time than free days on tour to explore, do some sightseeing and even some shopping. You never know when will be the next time you’ll return to some of the places you get to visit while on tour.
4. Be nice to people – Even though things will not always go your way or according to plan, you should learn how to keep your cool. It’s important to still be nice to people even if you’re having a bad day because your crew or the local crew may also be having a bad day and everybody is doing their best to make everything work as smoothly as possible.
5. Bring a camera – Always take pictures & video footage. You should gather a lot of footage as you’ll always need it for teasers, videos, social networks. Plus it is really fun to watch it after awhile again.
