In this Dream Tour segment, the singer-songwriter, LMH, reveals who she would want on her ultimate tour lineup. You can check out their picks, after the break.
Since I haven’t officially been on tour for my own music I’ve still gotta dream :) I want to be surrounded by people who in their most primal way let out their own unique sound, who wear their soul on their sleeves.
Brittany Howard would have to be on the bill. The way Brittany uses her voice pushes and inspires me. The fact that she has multiple different projects of different styles always keeps me interested and shows her genius. Hearing her voice always makes me feel something, the good, the bad and the ugly. And would sing back ups on what ever she ever asked.
Tune Yards keeps me on the edge of my seat. Being around Merrill Garbus and getting the opportunity to watch her build her tracks would constantly keep me inspired. The conversations I imagine I would have with Merrill would be informative and life changing. She’s able to talk about hard subjects in her music with out the audience knowing at first listen.
Since I was in my late teens I have been singing with the Fleet Foxes, in my car. I could bathe in Robin’s harmonies. Sometimes I warm up to “Helplessness Blues” because the range of the harmonies is huge, it gets every part of my voice going. A lot of the Fleet Foxes’ influences are similar to the sounds of my house growing up, Dylan, the Beach Boys. I would love to write and duet with Robin.
I imagine Brittany, Merrill, Robin, and I would take a hike on an off day, smoke a joint, and discuss life. The good, the bad and the ugly.
