In this Dream Tour segment, the rock band, Lonely Avenue, let you know who they would like on their ultimate tour lineup. You can check out the feature, after the break.
The tour begins with Levon Helm visiting our vocalist Jon Ranger in a dream. They are standing on the bank of the Mississippi River in Memphis, at the place where Jeff Buckley was drowned.
“Why are we here?” Jon asks.
“This here’s it, son. That gnawing feeling you’ve always had in your belly that you were born to something? It’s time.”
“How will I know what to do?”
“It’s not what you do, it’s who you are that makes you right for this. Let’s go, son.”
With that Jon wakes up to a phone call. Lonely Avenue has been asked to support Wilco on a tour of every city where a civil war battle occurred, with a different special guest to be announced for each show. We play with Tedeschi Trucks Band in South Carolina, Ray Lamontagne in Tennessee, Sturgil Simpson in Virginia, and Bonnie Raitt in Pennsylvania.
Somewhere in the middle of each set of the tour, Jon looks over his left shoulder to cue bassist Derek Chaney and catches a glimpse of Helm’s ghost, smiling from the wings. He meets Jon’s eyes for a moment, winks, and fades.
Keep up with the band on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
