So a few years ago I was in Florida and I got tickets to see a show at the amphitheater just off the I4 near Tampa.
The headliners were The Goo Goo Dolls and their support acts were Switchfoot and Boyce Avenue. It was an amazing show and I loved all the bands that night! So that’d be the basis for my Dream Tour!
Now, The Goo Goo Dolls were the main reason I started writing songs after I heard Iris. Their music just means so much to me both lyrically and Musically. I’ve seen them play a few times since and my fave show was at the Troubadour where John Rzeznik even gave me his guitar at the end of the concert only for his roadie to snatch it back afterward, haha! Anyway, I’d still want them to headline.
And I’d like to have Switchfoot on the bill too. Jon Foreman is a great writer and person and I was lucky to have a chat with him about songwriting. He gave me some great advice along the lines of “just write lots of songs and just keep the good ones and forget the others”.
I’d start off the show with an acoustic and maybe do a few of my songs later in the set with a band just to show off some of the song arrangements!
As to the tour itself, I’d love to do a 60 date US tour which would go on forever playing all the mid-size and large stadiums maybe finishing off at The Hollywood Bowl or Madison Square Garden.
PS if I needed to have another act then it’d have to be Jimmy Eat World – such a great band!
