LVRBOY – PRESHOW RITUALS

In this Preshow Rituals segment, the electro pop artist, LVRBOY, reveals what he does before taking the stage. You can check out the rituals, after the break.

I start my show day by having a light day at the gym, just enough to get me rolling but nothing that’s going to exhaust me. Then I’ll eat a pretty big breakfast. After that, I basically just drink Throat Coat tea and slowly get equipment together before I head to soundcheck. On my way to soundcheck, I’ll begin lightly warming up with some low “hums,” and that’s really the extent of warming up until about 30 minutes before the show (I won’t push my vocal too hard during soundcheck, since I’m not fully warmed up yet).

After soundcheck, the band and I usually go grab some food which, in my case, is more like a small snack because if I eat too much I get all burpy. Once we get back to the venue, I grab a Jameson on the Rocks and try to stay backstage in an attempt to not blow my voice out talking to people before the show. More often than not, I’ll head out onto the floor for a quick round of saying hello to friends and fans before heading back to sit in silence and get my mind right. Then, it’s showtime. I hug my band and we hit it.
