Pat: I had a dream once that the Ringling Bros. Circus opened up for us. They blew my mind. So def making that happen. Then I would call Willie Nelson to see if we could borrow his bus. The most legendary tour bus all of all and he always packs it with tons of treats and goodies.
Jess: My dream tour would be quite the collective of talented, quirky artists. First, I would have Lady Gaga. I have always thought she was an artist that had a visual and made it happen. Her new album, Joanne, really resonates with me. I feel like it’s the realest version of her yet. Second, I would have Florence & The Machine. I have always looked up to Florence Welsh as a female artist. She is a powerhouse and I love her songwriting. These two just collaborated on a song on Gaga’s new album, Hey Girl, that I think is beautiful and a strong message for women. Next, I would have LCD Soundsystem. I am a new fan of their music and now a lifer. Plus they put on a killer live show. It’s pretty amazing to see every single sound in their complex songs fully played out on stage. Big dance party. Lastly, my most favorite is Arcade Fire. Lyrically I connect with the writing so much. I love that they are a husband and wife duo. When Manicanparty, first began we had such visions of having a large group of musicians performing on stage with us and Arcade Fire amazes me at how this has always been their thing. I love everything they do. My music taste is pretty eclectic and generally, I avoid listening to mainstream music, Gaga and Florence being my exception, but if a concert like this were to happen, I would be on cloud 9.
Pat: Francis and the Lights and Laura Mvula have crushing records out right now. Francis is one of the most creative musicians I think right now. Dudes got the strangest moves too. Makes you groove and slightly question what planet he came from. Would love to get some more female on stage too. I think it’s a special time for females in music. Warpaint has incredible grit and super earnest with their vibes. What a rollercoaster that would be
Jess: I think we should end the show with John Williams or Hans Zimmer medley.
