It happened on a tour in Russia…
It was the first night in St. Petersburg. We went to see the city (amazing), to have some traditional food of course and drink few traditional Russian drinks.
We had a rented apartment (by the promoter) and we were all together with our crew sharing the apartment, sleeping on beds, couches, and floor. Was really cool, like camping in elementary school.
Somewhere during the night, I hear people in panic and I wake up. “There is a man in the room!” – someone yelled!
I look around and I see an old Russian guy, doors wide open and him showing me an ID card with Cyrillic words unreadable to me. He was yelling stuff in Russian and couldn’t say a word in English. Behind him, a woman appeared. I was totally sure we are getting robbed, or we were robbed, or who knows what.
The woman behind him was able to say few English words and she explained that the guy is a plumber! What the F**k is a plumber doing in our apartment at 3 in the morning. Why are plumbers working at night?
Then she explained that there was huge water leakage in her apartment from our apartment and that they came to check what is going on here. I explained that we were sleeping all night and that we didn’t do anything. They asked if they can check the toilet and we said, “Sure. Be our guest”.
They opened the toilet door and they found a crew member passed out of booze there. He collapsed and smashed with his head the toilet ceramic and made a super huge leak of water with that. The Russian moved him, closed the valve, and returned him in the position where he was sleeping passed out on the toilet floor. It really looked that the old Russian plumber saw this kind of thing too much time in his life.
For our remaining in that apartment (3 days) we didn’t have anything but extremely warm to burning degree water so showering, drinking, or whatever became impossible. We were really pissed off but that was a cool bizarre moment on tour. Like one of a million others
