Max Ater – DREAM TOUR

Playing the keys wasn’t really on my radar until I came across Gavin DeGraw in high school. His piano chops and writing style have been (and continue to be) a huge inspiration to me. I remember first hearing Chariot on the radio back in the day. I couldn’t stop singing it. Seriously. I was sent out of the room! In fact, my latest EP Little Victories echoes his more Pop-centric tracks. Sharing the stage with him has always been a huge goal of mine. Gavin, if you’re reading this… hit me up!

Next up on this tour (preferably concert halls throughout the nation) would be the wonderful Norah Jones. I’ve always had a raspy voice but she’s the master! The first cover I ever learned was Don’t Know Why from her album Come Away With Me. I’d certainly be joining her on that song in this dream. Her style on the piano is completely unique and something I just gotta see up close.

Last but certainly not least… the UK’s Pop/Jazz star Jamie Cullum. I was introduced to Jamie as a child by my piano teacher, though I never truly listened to him until I was a much older. I’m grateful I did because beyond his stellar music and onstage energy, he’s found a way to never go stale in this ever-changing industry. The minute you try to nail him down… he’ s up to something new. He’s genius.

So Gavin, Norah, Jamie, and myself… touring the U.S.A. That’s my dream tour line up!
