Modern Day Escape is currently on a co-headline U.S. tour with Affianace, as well as Deception of a Ghost and Picture Me Broken. While they are on this tour, the band will be writing three exclusive Road Blog entries while they are on this tour. You can check out their first entry about the first 8 days of the tour after the break!
It has only been 8 days now, and already it feels like 8 weeks. We loose time on the road and forget what day it is, thank goodness for our tour passes and cellphones or I for one would be so completley outta touch with the world! We get super involved with our fans aka, “the syndicate” and playing shows, that hoestly nothing else matter’s! Our first stop was in Ogden Utah, which was a killer time. We had a ton of kids come out that sang along to the songs and went crazy with us . Denver Colorado, day number two, wasn’t quite as insane. This was mostly due to a presidential debate in the local area that night, which closed off all but one street in the area, plus it started to lightly snow. Yet ‘ol Barrack decided he would drop by for a few shots with MDE, j/k, j/k. All in All the show was alright, but pretty soon we got outta there and on the road once more.
After our stint in Denver, we treked onward to Lincoln Nebraska. It was such a blast, for starters, before the show I found myself drinking $2.00 margeritas in some spanish cantina… not a bad start if you ask me! So after a few, we hit the stage and rocked out with the lincoln syndicate packed up and drove out to Joilet Illinois. We were all excited to tear it up in Joliet, only to disapointingly come to find out that the venue had turned away some 200 plus kids. Long story short, the event had been canceled due to venue problems. As a result we and all the other bands decided to post up in the parking lot, we cranked some tunes, cracked some beers and partied hardy while we signed some autographs, took a few pictures, and just spent time with everyone that was still waiting around for us. Once it got to cold we left and went to a friends house and roasted some marhmellows over and open fire and relaxed before we took off to good ‘ol Wisconson.
We had never been to Wisconssin, so we really didnt know quite what to expect … lets just say their beers are as awesome as the fans!! The food, as well, after all that it rocked too, as well as the other bands who performed amazing sets! That brings us up to Peoria Illinois which was last night, were we had a more intimate set up and some good ‘ol rock N’ roll with some great fans.
As for tonight though, we’re just taking it easy and enjoying a night off in Cleveland Ohio. Personally I’m feeling a little under the weather, so we are chillin watching, WWE at our guitarist’s parents house and not over doing it . This tour so far is awesome, I know I can’t wait to keep meeting all the great fans, plus make some new ones. On top of it all, our tour buddies in Affiance, Deception of a ghost and Picture me broken have been and are all such awesome bands we can’t wait to see what goes down the next few weeks!
