Modern Day Escape is currently on a co-headline U.S. tour with Affianace, as well as Deception of a Ghost and Picture Me Broken. While they are on this tour, the band will be writing three exclusive Road Blog entries while they are on this tour. You can check out their second entry about the 2nd half of the tour after the break.
When we last left off we were raging it up on a stage in Akron, OH and spending time with some family and friends. The following morning it was time for us to hit the road but before we did we swung by the office of 87.7 Cleveland’s Sound, one of Cleveland’s premier rock radio stations, for a few pictures and to talk about the band with one of the DJ’s.
Following our time in Akron, we ventured down into Toledo, OH where we played at a venue called Frankie’s. There we had a small stage, but boy oh boy did we tear it up making sure everyone that came out had an awesome time. After the show what happened next was just fun, and a little hysterical Everyone in Affiance, Deception Of A Ghost, and Picture Me Broken and all of us in MDE found ourselves dancing to a bunch of oldies and slammin down shots! We promise it was a sight to be seen!!!
The next evening we were in Toledo, OH where had a good reception waiting for us outside. We had people from dedicated fans to listeners that were fairly new to our music. Regardless our performances are always more exciting when we know that our audience is super into it, and singing along to every line! It’s what gets you pumped and rock even harder!
After our amazing time in Toledo, we packed up and headed north to our neighboring country of Canada. We were all super stoked to rock out in the land of maple syrup, hockey, and moose’s and MOTHA truckin poutine. We entered through Buffalo, NY by Niagara Falls, and after a stop at the Canadian customs check point were all ready to get into Toronto, QC. There we hit the stage with a new level of excitement because of our being in Canada and we wanted to make sure our fans, who haven’t ever had the chance to see us, really got to enjoy our music and performance so we made sure we gave it our all!
Up next we had to drive to Montreal, QC which would have been much better had our vans heater not decided to go out, on a night when the temp is below freezing!! All things aside, we survived and made it to the venue. We rocked out and got the fans to go nuts! After the show we went out to a club called Le Fufunes and things got real weird, this place is like Tortuga from pirates of the Caribbean for starters. And lets just say foreign girls know how to have fun… Wink Wink! we stumbled back to the hotel and got some delicious Poutine, an awesome dish from Canada, made with fries, gravy and cheese curd…. it was good, TRUST!
After a few days in Canada we were back in the U.S. of A. and rolled into Cambridge, MA a suburb to Boston and playing in a middle east styled night club , it was rad. The food was amazing the beer was delish and the hobo’s were feisty. the next night we played at a giant old firehouse and we had a challenge who could climb up the pole with just there hands that was effing intense. Then last night we played at Heirloom Theater there they served the best anti-pasta salad i ever head , the sound was amazing, before we played we corralled all the vans together, old style like fucking wagons and partied like true AMERICAN CHRISTIANS with our brothers in arms “deception of a ghost” lets just say things got weird.
Well we are drawing near to the close of this tour with Affiance, Deception Of A Ghost and Picture Me Broken. We are all having such a blast and are a little sad to be seeing it end so soon. the fans have been amazing the syndicate coming out to support was wild, we will miss these guys, the bands on this tour all deserve to blow up. We are so thankful to be with bands like these and be on the road, playing rock n’ roll, getting into trouble, raging at bars, and making lasting memories!!!
