When we were out on tour with Adelitas Way, we were only two dates in. We played a packed show in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin that night.
We had an overnight drive to Minot, North Dakota (which was super far.) We only got a few hours in on the drive, with a car coming down the opposite side of the freeway that we had to dodge. As we kept driving we noticed a few other cars slowing down in front of us….then we saw an overturned 18 wheeler. There was oil and gas all over the highway, the axel was split and laying on the road.
Me, my drummer Greg, and our tour manager Eric went to go investigate. We found a guy in the cab of the truck very dazed. We ended up helping the guy get out of the cab of the truck and getting cars away from the accident. It took us around four hours – which was brutal. But, we helped some dude out. And still made our soundcheck in Minot, North Dakota after driving straight through the night and morning. I think we even have a picture with us and highway patrol… who totally thought we had drugs on us.
