First and foremost, a good night’s sleep is important before every show. We all make sure to come fresh and well rested since we put a lot of energy into our performances. We like to get to the venue as early as we can so we can scope out the place and make sure we have everything we need to put on a great show. That way we also have some time to relax and mentally prepare before going on stage.
Howl: I drink a lot of water throughout the whole day. When we get to the venue I’ll find a quiet corner and start doing the obligatory vocal warm-ups. We then usually try to see if the other bands we’re performing with need help with loading equipment and things of that nature, as it can get pretty boring when you sit around waiting to go on stage. We sometimes take a walk to get some fresh air, being outside also gives us an opportunity to talk to fans. I like to rest my voice and keep it calm before we start, and make sure all my guitars are in tune and my gear is plugged in and ready. Seeing the faces in the crowd when we go on is what really gets us into the live show mode.
Cloud: I like to go running on the morning before a show. It gets my adrenaline up and gives me energy to go through the day. After we load all the equipment and make sure everything is in place, I’ll try to practice the bass in order to keep my fingers warmed up. Sometimes I’ll get creative and tap on anything I can find so my speed and flexibility will remain intact. I drink a lot of water and usually eat something sweet like fruit or a piece of chocolate before I go on stage. I believe it’s important to be in a good mood and have fun, most chances are that the audience will enjoy the show if they see that you enjoy it too.
Strike: I like to put on my headphones and get myself in the zone and pumped up with some of my favorite tunes. I’ll then have a solid bite to eat since nourishment is vital for peak performance. Next, I’ll do some stretches to get my limbs nice and loose so the flow of my drumming can become smoother. After that, I’ll usually warm up by doing some rudiments and running through our setlist on a practice pad to refresh my muscle memory. Once that’s done, all that’s left is to double check that all of my equipment is locked in nice and tight and hit the stage with full force!
When the time comes to start the show, we will all convene for a band huddle to break off into our respective positions on stage. We then proceed to give the audience everything we’ve got and then some. If want to see us and all this in action, come to one of our lives and rock out with us! Thank you to all of you readers and Digital Tour Bus for having us. Please be sure to check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube! Our new EP is on the way so stay tuned!
