In this Preshow Rituals segment, the symphonic metal, Moonlight Haze, reveals what they do before taking the stage. You can check out the rituals, after the break.

As I guess with most bands, we have different rituals and habits that we practice right before a concert. Talking about our warm-ups, Giulio usually starts to drum on whatever he stumbles upon from the first moment we leave for the show. No matter if it’s two days before or the same morning. Alberto, Marco, and AJ warm-up backstage for about half an hour while Chiara usually does a short session of yoga and stretching then a long (and damn loud) vocal warm-up (in addition to occupying half the dressing room with clothes, makeup, and the bulky “Moonlight Mic Stand”).

Talking about food, there are basically two distinct and fierce factions in the band: on the one hand Chiara, Marco and Alberto who try to make healthy meals during the trips and especially before the shows, while AJ and Giulio who swallow any type of junk food and snacks that come under fire. Normally, we all avoid alcohol in the hours before the concert while drinking lots of tea and infusions and water. Moreover, we have to say we have other rituals and mottos that we use before going on stage, but on these, we better apply strong self-censorship, haha! One more thing: got to admit we all hug each other before going on stage, after all.. we are tender-hearted metalheads.

Keep up with the band on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
