MUSZETTE – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the electro pop artist, MUSZETTE, shares one of her stories from being on the road. You can check out the story, after the break.

About 2 years ago, another female artist friend of mine decided to team up and organize a Pacific Northwest Tour using the same band. It was a brilliant idea actually! We were having so much fun kicking off the shows in San Francisco and taking in the gorgeous scenery on the drive to Medford, Oregon. While the scenery was still beautiful, we didn’t know much about Medford other than the fact that it was the perfect amount of driving distance between San Francisco and Seattle, Washington, where we were headed next.

We literally didn’t know anyone in the area and were relying on the other band and venue to bring in a crowd. Well, it was a super slow night. And just as I was about to go on stage, I thought I’d basically be performing for the bartenders. Amazingly, right as I was starting my first song, a ROWDY group of people came in. They were lit! So much so, that I ended up taking a shoulder ride from someone in the audience and sharing rounds of shots with people. But THAT isn’t even the crazy part of this story!

After all the excitement and everyone had left, we were hanging out with the owners and packing up our gear, when I heard my drummer yelling from outside. A HOMELESS man had gotten into our van while we were loading stuff back in, was eating our snacks, and covered himself in one of our blankets. Our drummer had literally been throwing equipment in the trunk and went to move the big bag he thought was in the backseat when he realized it was a human! He didn’t steal anything other than the snacks and water, and honestly, I’m sure he needed it. The guy ran off as soon as he was discovered and it didn’t end up being a big deal in the end, but shocking and kind of hilarious nonetheless!

I guess that can happen in Medford? I guess it can happen anywhere. We were just grateful he didn’t steal anything of value and we had already moved our bags into the AirBnB we were staying at before we played this show. The moral of the story, lock the car in between gear runs!
