My Goodness – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In March, we were heading West from Toronto to Detroit. Sometimes when you’re in the swing of things you don’t even stop to really look at your surroundings. That morning the snow was coming down hard and it was well into the low 20’s, but none of us even mentioned the idea of maybe waiting out the weather. The conditions got so bad we eventually hit a full freeway closure after passing several wrecks.

The only thing that saved us from a real disaster was that we had a full tank of gas and could keep ourselves warm. We were motionless for about 6-7 hours, and from there we moved slowly for the next hour and a half into Detroit. None of us had ever been stuck in anything like that before, and without cell reception it was pretty tough to know what the hell was going on. The picture Joel took from the driver’s seat as the sun is going down is pretty intense, it looks a bit like if Antarctica had roads.
