Neverless - CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the skalternative band, Neverless, shares one of their stories from being on the road. You can check out the story below:

Okay! So, this most recent tour took us up and down along the east coast of the US. New York City was our northernmost destination, which was an amazing time! None of us had ever experienced The Big Apple before, so we planned to have a couple days off before our show at Amityville Music Hall in Long Island. On the day of the show, we figured it would be cool to go stop by the Amityville horror house, since it was only a few miles away from the venue, and most of us are huge fans of anything macabre. So, we made the trip! The house was what you'd expect, very much remodeled, and not necessarily anything out of the ordinary; but don't let the seemingly innocuous looks deceive you...

Now, I should take a moment to mention that we are a very laid back group of musicians. It takes a lot to get us aggravated with each other, even though things are always expected to get a bit heated when you're confined to a van with five other people for extended periods of time... The following days, however, were surreal, to say the least... Pointless drama, and arguments began presenting themselves left and right. It felt like someone had entirely flipped the vibe switch on our tour considering what would come next. Something MOST DEFINITELY changed after stopping by that house...

We had not one, but two tour dates cancelled within the next week, by no fault of our own. One venue got their noise permit pulled, and one had a plumbing pipe burst and the building has a sewage overflow, making the establishment completely unusable... As if things couldn't get any worse from there, our van blew a rear tire shortly after. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but we come to find out, there was no tool included with our rental van to drop the spare tire down from underneath the vehicle. We spent NINE HOURS sitting on the side of the road trying to explain to roadside service exactly what tool we needed in order to get moving, and out of the three techs that were sent, not a single one was able to provide us with the proper equipment to get the job done... We ended up having to get the van towed (with our gear in it), which is an entirely different, and equally lengthy story for another time!

Regardless, we had a blast on this run, and can not wait to get back out and do it again. There's no better feeling than traveling to a new place with the sole purpose of expressing your creativity, and playing your own music. Long story short: DON'T GO VISIT THE AMITYVILLE HORROR HOUSE WHILE YOUR BAND IS TOURING!!! Anyway, thanks so much for reading, and make sure to go check out our recently released debut self-titled album, available on all streaming platforms! Oh, and huge shoutouts to Digital Tour Bus for giving the world so much killer content!

Until next time,
T. J. Collins (Neverless)
