New Found Glory, Yellowcard, and Tigers jaw all made their way to Concord Music Hall in Chicago for two nights this past weekend. I had the privilege of attending the first of these two nights.

Opening the night was Tigers Jaw. This was my first time seeing them live and hopefully not my last. Even though it looked tight on stage with all the members and their instruments, they still seemed to be having a good time. If you haven’t already check out their songs “Hum”, “Charmer”, “Never Saw it Coming”, “I Saw the Wolf”, and their cover of The Cure’s “In Between Days” which they played live that night.

Yellowcard was next and they started off the night with “Breathing” and kept the hits coming with songs such as “Way Away”, “Lights and Sounds”, “Make Me So”, “Ocean Avenue”, “Only One”, “Empty Apartments”, “Light up the Sky”, and many more. The entire set there were crowd surfers and circle pits. Even though the show was a 17+ older show, it was great seeing the crowd still getting just as rowdy as they would of years and years ago. The members of Yellowcard acted just the same. Running around on stage and at one point, Sean even did a backflip off the drum set. No one can tell them they are too old for this. Watching them perform and seeing the crowd’s reaction is what made it even more enjoyable.

New Found Glory is a must see band live if you have not already. They all have so much energy on stage it’s insane. Lead singer, Jordan Pundik, threw himself into the crowd, not even ten minutes into their set. Playing songs such as “Head on Collision”, “Hit or Miss”, “Resurrection”, “Understatement”, “All Downhill”, “Dressed to Kill”, “My Friends Over You”, “Don’t Let Her Pull You Down”, “Selfless”, “Sonny”, “Memories & Battle Scars”, and much, much more they had the crowd amped the whole time. Crowd surfers and circle pits were never ending. At one point they even brought up a fan named Brad and had him pick a song to perform with them. He chose “Second to Last” and for a moment NFG had to make sure they knew the lyrics and how to play it since it’s been so long. The show continued on with banter with the crowd, more sing-alongs, and ended with an explosion of confetti.
