Our dream tour would include pop acts from around the world to celebrate our global story and promote unity through music. We’d start off with Ace Of Base. Yes, Ace Of Base! They were pioneers of Swedish pop and were heavily featured on the playlists of our youth. After Ace of Base, we’d have ABBA come on to further show how much of a pop powerhouse Sweden was and continues to be. So much of how we approach writing our music for NIGHTMÅNE is influenced by ABBA. We try to be meticulous about melody and word sounds, ensuring every song is as catchy as possible. We also try to incorporate instrument hooks or little production earworms as much as we can, influenced by ABBA classics like ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme’ and ‘Dancing Queen’.
After ABBA and our celebration of Sweden, we’d bring out Duran Duran and then Depeche Mode to celebrate the English influence on the iconic sound of the 80’s that we heard in both the US and Norway where we’re from. Modern Production has come so far and with all the sounds available at our fingertips, we constantly find ourselves looking to the sonics of early English Synth-pop, and both Duran Duran and Depeche Mode sound fresh some 40’s years later.
We might then celebrate France and bring out Daft Punk…I mean, we just love them. Songs, production, branding…they had it all and they really made some incredible collaborations which would show on our dream tour. The Weeknd and Nile Rodgers would both definitely make appearances. The Weeknd is just killing it in our opinion, we just love his music and we share his love for the 80’s style of synth-pop production. Nile getting funky on our tour would be an absolute must!
To celebrate the US where our singer is from, I think we’d go big and bring out Mark Ronson. He’s British born we know, but he’s written and produced some of our favorite records out of the US. He’d obviously bring out Bruno to do Uptown Funk!
