Well, the love of my life and biggest inspiration is Freddie Mercury. Since that is not going to happen, unless I am in the imaginal space of my dreams (which I could argue is more real than this realm) and even though I love and respect Adam Lambert’s soaring voice in his current place, I have always imagined these alternatives. I would absolutely die to open for The Killers, The Cure, Bon Iver, The 1975, Panic! At the Disco, okay and let us put in Queen anyway with Adam Lambert.
Okay, hear me out I know these are all bands composed of white guys, BUT I am not ashamed that I’ve been obsessed with them forever and, FURTHERMORE, I think there is something super potent about breaking the mold and opening up some minds and ears on that spectrum. I’m super obsessed and align with the music of Sevdaliza as she is also an Iranian queen who I relate to and if I can flatter myself channel the same kind of dark, mysterious resonance. But I would want that vibe to be spread out and infiltrate some white man band listeners. And then also I just have been truly obsessed with their music and projecting fantasies on the singers and their beautiful showmanship and faces. That’s just the truth.
But also, I want to tour with my best friends and their solo music, and so if I can also add on a tour for the talented freaks of my life that I actually personally know and am not making projections and fantasies out of – NISHA, Kmo, Agnes Azria, Jamie Love, Alchemy, Milan McCray, Fields, Brody Calix, Chanel, and the Circus. That would be obviously the dream fulfilled as well.
