Norin and Rad – TOUR TIPS

This new set of Tour Tips was written by the electronic duo, Norin and Rad. You can check out their tips for being on the road, after the break.

1. Learn to sleep sitting up
This has got to be one of the most important things about being a traveler of any sorts. Most of your sleeping as a DJ is done on an airplane. Probably the WORST place to try to cure a hangover so it’s best if you master the art of SitSleeping before you get on the road. Also have a freakin neck pillow otherwise you will cry.

2. Invest in molded ear plugs
This one is mandatory. Your career as a DJ on the road all depends on your ears. The worst thing you could do is be in a loud club every other night with no ear protection. It’s said that your ears hear less and less the more you blast them with noise so why not save them for when you need them?

3. Eat and sleep on as much of a regular schedule as possible!
It’s so important to stay on yourself about food and sleep. We’ve heard countless stories of DJ’s collapsing or passing out from fatigue and you definitely don’t want that to be you! So stay ahead of your eating and sleeping habits on the road and you’ll be fine! Maybe skip an after party or two.

4. EXERCISE!
This goes along with the last one which the key goal is staying healthy. Along with sleeping and eating right you need to stay fit and the more you work out and stay active the better your brain will function as well. Which is pretty handy when you’re in a new city every day or every other day.

5. Keeping up with your music
This is the most important thing in what we do. There is no point in going through the first 4 tips we gave if you’re going to suck on stage. You NEED to be changing things all the time according to the crowd. And if you don’t have new music to turn to or new ideas then you will become boring and actually bored yourself. The biggest thing is keeping up with your music because it’s what actually keeps you on the road!
