Mike – Alexisonfire
I think they’ve done a lot to pioneer and represent the Canadian hardcore/heavy music scene. I think bands like this have opened up the world of heavy music to a whole new audience. Getting played on mainstream outlets like MTV/MuchMusic and spawned a generation of musicians and listeners, effectively paving the way for bands like ours to try and do the same.
Nicola – Drake
I’d have to add Drizzy because we live in a world now where music isn’t as segregated as it used to be. Lil Wayne was on tour with Blink 182, Waka Flaka & MGK were both on the Vans Warped tour at one point. DJs/producers have mainstream pop singers on all their tracks these days so to have a dream tour of Toronto-only talent would be crazy. I just want more shows that look like my Spotify playlist.
Pauline – Tonight Alive
I’m gonna go with tonight alive just because they’ve been a huge inspiration to me both in terms of Jenna’s powerhouse vocals and as a woman in the music industry. I also admire the amazing relationship they have with their fanbase. If not them, then I would choose to bring dead and divine back from the dead and tour with them.
Casius – Counterparts
Counterparts have always been a big inspiration to me and I think you can definitely hear that in our music. We’ve been lucky enough to play a festival with them and I actually got to go on stage with them to do a vocal spot during their set. They work super hard and it’s really inspiring to see such a heavy band have commercial success. To be able to go on a full-on tour with them has been a dream of mine for a long time now.
