OCTOURBER 2012 – 2nd ROAD BLOG from The Stereo State

While The Stereo State, Anchors, After The Fall and Antillectual are on their fall tour together called OCTOURBER 2012, they will be writing a rotating Road Blog exclusively for us. Manhattan NY, wow. Today we played at the legendary ABC No Rio. The longest running DIY spot in the country. What a rad spot. $1.00 pizza slices and Yuengling tall boys. This spot is filled with hipsters that the biggest decision they make in the day, is whether to ride their fixed gear or long board to get around. The venue is so cool though. All the bands played super short sets so we could make it on the Lagwagon, Flatliners, Dead To Me cruise. Everyone bought tickets ahead of time except us. BECAUSE WE ARE IDIOTS. Sold out! (go figure). Anyways we headed out to NJ to stay with our homie Brian Maguire who plays in Banquets and the legendary Ensign. We were stuck in traffic for hours drinking a lot of beer. Needless to say we all had to piss in any empty beer cans and Gatorade bottles cause we are filthy disgusting animals. We arrived at Brian’s who had a 30pack waiting for us (thank you so much dude). Drank some beer and watched YouTube videos of Taylor Swifts butt. We headed out to a bar in town that had a shuffleboard table which is odd to see in this part of the country. Gabe and Brians team dominated everyone, bastards. We ate at a Quick Check which is basically like a WaWa. Brian has some shitty cat that he’s “cat-sitting” for some stripper. That cat fucking sucks. He walked all over our faces all god damn night. I would do sick, disgusting, unforgivable shit for an Advil and Claratin (fuck cats). But either way we had a clean place to crash, couches to sleep on, a shower, and gourmet bagels and coffee to wake up to (thanks so much for the hospitality!). Apparently Mixtapes stayed here last night as well, but got here real late and left early this morning. I heard people talking about black metal and football and The Fest, but I drink entirely too much vodka to be a part of anything that early in the morning. Now we are headed to play at “The Place” in Brooklyn NY. I checked out the venue this morning and it says that it’s closed on Sundays. But we’re headed there anyways instead of making a simple phone call to see what the deal is. BECAUSE WE ARE IDIOTS.
