Of Monsters and Men 2012 Fall Tour – REVIEW

Earlier this week, we had the amazing opportunity to attend the second sold out, Of Monsters and Men, show at the Riviera Theater in Chicago. You can check out our review of the amazing night after the break.

A cold winter evening in Chicago quickly warmed up inside a sold out Riviera Theatre when main act, Of Monsters and Men, hit the stage showcasing their unique pop folk sound that lit up the theatre and brought everyone to their feet for a joyful evening of fun a great music.

As they took the stage, they had a space inspired intro playing in the background and with a sudden flash of light, OM&M hits the cords to their song “Dirty Paws” and the crowd erupts in cheers. About half way through the set, lead vocalist Nanna expresses her love to the fans as she transitions to their slow and intimate song “Love Love Love” where the drummer shows off his diverse musical talent when playing the accordion.

Three songs later another burst of energy takes over as OM&M plays their hit single “Little Talks”.  Fans dancing and singing along to all the lyrics was a sight to see, but it was the trombone solo by keyboardist Árni that blew everyone away.

After the encore, OM&M played three more songs to end what was an amazing night at the Riv.
