Phin – DREAM TOUR

In this Dream Tour segment, Toby Haydel, of the indie rock band, Phin, lets you know who they would like on their ultimate tour lineup. You can check out the feature, after the break.

Imagine a literal traveling Circus that is accompanied by your absolute favorite bands of all time. The options here are endless so we will just share a quick sneak peek into a night during our dream tour:

The big tent is all set up and ready to go and the performers are preparing for their intensely choreographed interpretations of your favorite bands’ concerts. Each city has a new lineup because the bands chosen for this series will only be playing with the Circus in their hometowns. As the Circus travels into each city, bands such as Modest Mouse, Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, etc. all headline the best concert series of all time!

Each night will begin with a small circus performance that acts as an intro to the entire night. The performance will tell a short story of a young boy who is lost but determined to find his way home. Animals, clowns, tightrope walkers, etc. all play a role in the story as the boy meets different characters who either help him find his way home or distract him from his goal with sinful temptations. The intro performance climaxes with lights, fire, and fades to black as we begin the concert as the opening act for the series. (We luckily landed this sweet gig because it was our idea.)

Guitars scream and cymbals crash as the performers throw themselves about to transpose our songs into raw emotion and precise movement. Our set was carefully selected to capture the audience and set the mood for the next band. On this particular night, we are opening for MGMT so the theme for the night is obviously some sort of mystical/magical forest with electric decorations surrounding the audience.

Our set finishes and the audience has now forgotten that there is a real world outside of their immediate setting. A small intermission takes place before the main event as the performers take their positions and the sound engineers set up their equipment to capture the night so it may live on forever after. MGMT finally begins the show and absolutely owns the night as one of the few headlining acts on this tour. Videos of the night hit the internet and it becomes a national sensation that everyone wants to experience! Each night would be totally new and completely astounding. This is our dream tour!
