Aleksi:
The first big concert for me was in November 2013 in Seinäjoki when Scorpions played along with the famous Finnish rockband Eppu Normaali. It was a fantastic show and both bands were among my favorites at the time! Later we found out that the other band members had also been at the same concert but of course we knew nothing about each other at the time. A funny coincidence…or was it?
Teemu:
The first big concert I went to was a Roger Waters show during his The Wall live tour in 2011. I had just turned 15 and had recently gotten into the music of Pink Floyd. The show was already sold-out when I found out about it, but my mom managed to get a hold of some crazy overpriced second-hand tickets and got them for me as a birthday present. The show was amazing, both musically and visually. Probably still one of the best, if not the best show I’ve ever been to.
Otto:
The first big rock concert for me was in a summer of 2001 when I was only 7 years old. At the time I was a huge fan of a legendary Finnish rockstar, Ismo Alanko. He was playing at the main stage of the local festival Provinssirock, which was by the time the biggest festival in Finland. My mother made me a mohawk as my hairstyle and my father took me to the show. I remember I watched almost the whole show on my father’s shoulders and I had to wear a big earmuff that ruined my awesome haircut. It’s very fascinating to think that 16 years later we got to play our first festival show at the same festival, which is still one of the biggest in Finland!
Tuomas:
The first major concert I remember going to was AC/DC June first, 2010 at the Ratina Stadium in Tampere, Finland. I went there with Aapo and we had seats at the grandstand of the stadium. The show was great and we saw all the AC/DC trademark maneuvers such as Angus’ overlong guitar solos and duckwalk. I remember I called Otto during the intro of ’Thunderstruck’ so he could hear it too cause we didn’t invite him with us. :D Few years later we went to see AC/DC again with Otto so he saw them too before they stopped touring.
Aapo:
As Tuomas said, AC/DCs stadium concert was the first major show we get to see. Seven years of ice hockey had taught me every guitar riff worth knowing and I have to say that all of them sounded amazing. That’s probably because of the difference between a modern live concert and a cheap pair of earphones playing a record from early 70’s. Anyway, the gig would have been at least twice as good if we had seen it from the crowd and right next to the stage. The second time we went to see the band just wasn’t the same since our taste in music had grown up. To be honest, it was more like a joke to see 55k people singing along with someone who had obviously seen their best days already. I guess I’ll never get over that mistake of buying seat tickets on the first time.
