I think the craziest situation, we ever experienced was at one of our first Brasil tours like 7 or 8 years ago.

I landed in Sao Paulo and was just super tired after that long trip from Europe (it’s a 13-hour flight). Our agency sent us a very detailed rider with all info of our driver including number plate of the car, color of the car, name of the driver etc. which was interesting…

When I left the airport looking for my driver I saw a guy holding up a sign saying, “DJ”. So, I went over there and did what my agent told me, I asked him for his name.

He didn’t speak English, so I tried it in Spanish… he still didn’t even try to understand me and wanted to take my luggage while saying, “come, come!” So I asked him again, what’s your name and what’s the number plate of your car…. his answer was: „come, come“!…. he tried to take my bag again and I told him to stop! Dude tell me your name! Right at that moment my driver came over and asked me if I’m Plastik Funk…. the other guys pushed me away and ran away…. until now I have no idea if he just wanted to steal my bag or maybe was planning to kidnap a DJ. Friends from Brazil told me that kidnapping of DJ’s happened before… Don’t get me wrong, I love Brazil, its one of my favorite countries to DJ, but that situation showed me again, you have to be very careful on tour sometimes!
