Darrell James: I usually take ten minutes before we go on stage to get myself pumped and in the zone. Then meet the guys at the bar for a shot of whiskey and I’m ready to go.
Al Stehman: I have no idea of how long I’ll get to play on stage, so I get super excited for each show. I take a moment and focus all that energy into my pelvis where it can radiate throughout my body when I hit the stage. I also really enjoy joining Darrell, Steve and Michael at the bar for a pre-show shot of whiskey to celebrate our good fortune.
Steve McIntosh: I have to see the band before us and enjoy the show as a fan first – it helps me get my head out of all the details that normally flood my thoughts before a show. As a band, we always meet up, do a shot of whiskey, and get each other fired up right before we walk on stage—I’m not very comfortable on stage, and it helps to remind me that I’m not up there by myself and the people who I would most want my back are right there with me… then another shot.
Michael X. Christian: I try not to eat much the entire day before a show, for fear of looking bloated onstage. I also won’t drink more than a couple shots prior to taking the stage- I’m not a fan of feeling out of control during a performance.
