December 2019 I played at the Jingle Bell Ball in the O2 arena in London together with Sam Feldt. We performed Post Malone there and this was the most nerve-wracking experience I’ve ever had. Sam asked me to do the show together and of course, I wanted to join him.
We flew to London that day and had a ride to the stadium. We needed to soundcheck and then everything got very real … I was going to perform in front of 20.000 people that night. Super cool but I was totally shitting my pants. After the soundcheck, we went to the hotel and had some food. We started reading the lineup and everything got even more real lol. I saw Sam Smith, The Script, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and many other huge artists on there. You might think that it’s weird I didn’t know this beforehand but I think I kind of knew but didn’t want to remember because it made me nervous lol. I thought to myself, how is it possible that I am standing on the same stage as these huge artists. Don’t get me wrong. I was honored and so so thankful to play there but omg it was one of the most scariest things I’d ever done.
After resting a little at the hotel we went to the artist entrance of the event to get make-up and hair done. We walked in and Taylor Swift’s dressing room was literally in front of ours and there were two or three security guys standing in front of it. After getting ready a nice lady took Sam and me to the stage and she gave us some info for the performance. Then a guy took us UNDERNEATH the stage to some sort of lift that went up as it was our turn and then we would be in front of those 20.000 people. I remember waiting under the big stage, on our knees as we had to crawl our way into the midsection and The Script was actually playing before us. It was so insane and such a fun experience. As the lift got up luckily a lot of my nerves calmed down. I loved being on that stage in front of all those people. We did our thing and as we got off the stage Sam Smith was literally in front of me. My inner fangirl was trying to keep the fangirling very lowkey lol and of course, he had to get on stage after us Sam and I just went back to the dressing rooms.
It was one of the craziest shows I had ever done! It was so much fun to experience it with Sam and I will never forget it.
