Rival Summers – 3rd ROAD BLOG from the Faces Of The Fight Tour

Leo Bautista, also known as Rival Summers, is an acoustic pop artist from Sterling Heights, Michigan! Currently, he is supporting Chase Coy on the Faces Of The Fight Tour that will be hitting many major U.S. cities this summer. Check out Leo’s third of a series of “Road Blogs” that he will be doing for us while he is out on this tour after the break.

It’s been a pretty eventful past couple days of tour guys. So much has happened and I’m excited to tell you what’s been up.

It was extra toasty in Jacksonville, FL today. We drove 7 hours straight here after our show in Raleigh, NC and spent literally our entire day off yesterday sleeping. I’m feeling more and more homesick by the day, but at the same time, this has been such a great trip so far. I feel like I’m sounding like a total noob, being all excited to be out on the road since this is my first long tour, but every single day has been memorable and I couldn’t be happier with where I’m at.

We played at The Brewery in Raleigh on Wednesday and everyone was just so nice and friendly. After my set, a girl came up to me at my merch table and made me promise that as long as making music makes me happy, I’ll never stop doing what I do. Music isn’t just what makes me happy. Music has been my everything my entire life and it’s just unbelievable what it has been able to do for me.

It’s been 15 years or so since I’ve seen my sister. She moved to Jacksonville from Michigan after she graduated from high school and all this time I thought about her throughout my whole childhood. I never really knew her since I was just a baby, but I had some pictures with her so I was always curious as to what she was like. When I heard that this tour was going to go through Jacksonville, I was hoping that it meant we would be able to visit her and see how she’s doing. I’ve been looking forward to this day for so long and it finally came. We met up with her this morning and it was great. She said I look just like my brother when he was younger except I have longer hair, haha.

I don’t know, I feel like I’m just rambling, but I’m so thankful to be able to have this opportunity to not only just live my dream, but to bring my family closer together with my music. There have been so many sacrifices in the name of Rival Summers, but all the rewards of sticking to my guns and pushing through have been incredible. This tour has been a dream and I’m more than happy to be on it.

Yep, I’m basically just rambling so I’ll leave it at that. I’m really excited for tomorrow because we’ve got an off day in Orlando and I’m hoping that means Harry Potter World!

Thanks for reading this, I really appreciate it even if you don’t listen to my music or anything. It’s just nice to be able to share what I’ve been up to with you and I hope you’re doing well.

I’ll talk to you soon!

Sincerely Me,
Leo – Rival Summers
