Ryan Cabrera – 1st ROAD BLOG from Teddy Geiger / Tyler Hilton Tour

So far, so good ladiez n gents! Gonna give a lil diary of the beginning of our adventure from the northeast all the way over to the west coast in just the matter of three weeks! My tour manager and long time friend/shaker prodigy, Adam Blain, and I are set to play 14 shows with my buddies, Tyler Hilton and Teddy Geiger. I’ve been really excited for this tour cause it’s nice to have fellow singer/songwriters on the road with ya. It just feels like home kinda vibe.

We started out at the historic Stone Pony in Asbury Park. I really dig this venue cause I love places with history. I mean, being on the same stage as the Boss doesn’t suck, so I knew it was gonna be a great show. Last time I played there was with Lisa Marie and the crowd was super fun! Checked in to our hotel and of course AS ALWAYS (in our case) it was under construction. Now if u don’t know this, I have a true talent for always staying in hotels that are under construction or even worse, just my floor is under construction! Anywho, went and grabbed sum dope azz sushi pre-show with my manager and a couple of friends. It was actually kind of funny cause our waiter came to our table and was super professional and well spoken etc etc. He killed the memorizing specials game which was impressive, so we order and so on. Somehow we get on the topic of the (pardon my spelling) Syzryp (you know, that stuff that Lil Wayne be drinking) and the waiter over hears us, and out of nowhere gets all excited and now is total ghetto voice, and he’s like “aweee dayum y’all be lookin fo dat Syrzryp? My homegurl can bring ya dat right now ill make one phone call.” We were literally laughing our ass off and I was like “no no buddy, we are good but thank you.” I love how quickly People can change their demeanor when they get comfortable..haha! Anyway, so as expected, the Asbury Park crowd killed it that night. Had the whole crowd singing MmmBop and Party in the USA…being the 1st night me and Tyler went and hung after the show and almost got swindled into giving some people a ride home!

Moved on to New York and Washington DC, which were sold out shows, so thank you so much if u came out!!! It was such an awesome feeling to start a tour that way!! Obviously we had to go celebrate a little in New York, totally forgetting how late of a city New York is. So after hitting STK after the show, then a lounge for 4 hours, then Cafeteria for a late night snack, next thing we know it’s 6 in the morning…whoooops!

Yeah lets go ahead and put NYC as the end of the tour next time.k…thx booking agent!! ;-). Needless to say, we didn’t have time to do anything fun in DC the next day. #fail

Currently on route to the next city which is a sold out in Athens, GA. I hear it’s a college town so let’s just hope that Adam Blain comes back to the hotel tonight…that is the question!

Keep up with Ryan on Facebook and Twitter!
