Halfway there! We’ve now moved further south into North Carolina and we can feel the southern bells and brahs coming out now! Love playing here, being that we haven’t all three done a full song together, backstage, me Teddy and Tyler decide we are gonna do “Missin You” and “Ignition” all together for the first time! This is my favorite part of touring, the impromptu sessions where it can either be something truly special and memorable, or what we call a “epic fail”! Hahaha. So, because I didn’t know “Missin You” very well, Tyler said “Don’t worry bra, Ill give u a look.” Now keep in my mind I have never played the box instrument better known as the Cajon! So apparently, I had a different vision of where I thought I wanted to come in. It was a look of hilarity when both Tyler and Teddy are staring at me, that was the spot we talked about backstage. I wasnst feeling it yet and came in hard right at the top of verse 2 – felt amazing…the beat kicked in and it was pure joy! The element of surprise is what made it so fun. We all had a musical bromance after the show complimenting each other on how damn cool that just was!
Followed the next evening for a sold out crowd in Athens, GA. The energy was high (usually always is in college towns). College chicks have no barriers or need to beat around the bush (if ya know what i mean) – so the things yelled out from the crowd are always more than amusing!
Now its on to my hometown of Dallas, TX. Not knowing what to expect cause I saw the schedule and it was a city 30 minutes outside of Dallas. Well, it just so happened to be the city where I was born, Lewisville, TX. I mean, what are the odds. So, you can imagine I was more than excited to get back there for the first time in about 20 years! Was so pleased to see the turnout in my hometown. Definitely broke some firecode violations that night. They were partyin pretty hard in that crowd! I followed straight from the stage to downtown Dallas where I went directly into the DJ booth to spin a spot called Sfuzzis! My mom came and danced until 3am, so I would say that was a major success, hahahah! Lookin foward to getting to the West Coast to see freinds and family! Staaaaay tuned!
