SAPPHIRE – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the electro pop artist, SAPPHIRE, shares one of her stories from being on the road. You can check out the story, after the break.

It was Valentine’s Day 2018 and the fourth night of the tour. It was already shaping up to be a bit of an emotional night, as my ex-boyfriend had broken up with me on the first night of the tour and I was in the city where I had met him. (I was fifteen at the time and definitely didn’t know what love was.)

So we went on stage and started playing the songs. It was going really, really well, the crowd was singing all the lyrics and giving off amazing energy. I cried whilst singing the sad track and did an emotional speech and everything… no idea why I did that, looking back that’s honestly quite embarrassing.

Then came the second to last song. I had a little bit of choreography for this track and as I was doing a little hip sway, but then I popped my hip out. Yes, I partially dislocated my hip. I have no idea how I did it, but I kept singing as if nothing had happened, I was just stuck in a bit of a weird position. I realized quite quickly that I needed to sort it out, and as I went to move, it popped straight back into place. The pain was excruciating, but I somehow kept singing and completed our whole set without telling anyone about what had just happened.

My hip has very luckily decided to stay in place ever since. Saph x
