SECRETS – TOUR PRANKS

In this Tour Pranks segment, Richard Rogers, of the post hardcore band, SECRETS, shares a prank from their 2012 tour with Sleeping With Sirens. You can read his story, after the break.

We supported Sleeping With Sirens on their first headliner back in 2012. We were opening the tour and it was actually our first real support tour so we didn’t quite know all the “tour rules.” We would always hang in their green room, show up late, etc…and their TM started getting pissed. Two weeks into the tour the SWS guys invited us back to the green room to hang, and their TM walked in and freaked out that we were in there (come to find out later it was planned), but he yelled for a bit and said we all needed to have a “talk.” All the SWS dudes then went on a rant and told us we’re off the tour. We freaked out, called our manager and booking agent and even they were in on it…told us to suck it up, that we deserved it, and might get dropped from our label too. After about 10 minutes of sulking at our trailer, Kellin walked up to us, told us “sorry guys, but…..WE’RE JUST FUCKING WITH YOU!” It was the biggest sigh of relief ever and a tour experience we definitely wont forget. That tour ended up being one of our favorites to date.
