Our pre-show rituals are really important to us, especially if we’ve had a long day in the car. These rituals help us relax and appreciate each other before we go on stage.
So, first things first… we need to make sure we’re all fed. I get very hangry very fast so that’s a priority :) After that’s all sorted I hide and do my vocal warm-ups for 25 minutes. I also sing along to tracks. My favorite pre-show jams are LEON – Tired of Talking and Sigrid – Don’t Kill My Vibe. I’ve made the mistake of not warming up before a show and it was a disaster. We’ve also learned to never travel anywhere without at least seven tea bags of Throat Coat, the elixir of life, to be consumed before every show.
We have a couple key things that we do side stage right before our set. We huddle together and say our mantra that we created during our first tour with Marian Hill. It’s a very special moment that helps ground us before our set. Then we do our kick/jumps. I do high kicks (or at least attempt to) while the guys jump up and down.
That’s our craziness in a nut shell.
Keep up with the band on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
