Sharks In The Deep End – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

This past May we were in Flagstaff to play a show at a badass venue called The Green Room. We didn’t have a place to stay so a really cool dude who worked at the venue rose to the occasion and kindly put us up for the night. It turned out that he was an ex-marine who moved out to Flagstaff after his service to explore the Grand Canyon and be one with nature. We noticed a target in his front yard and inquired what it was for. He proudly broke out his collection of bow and arrows and offered us the chance to try them out.
He had one rule: don’t hit the neighbor’s house.
Matt (drummer) was first up with the bow. He carefully aimed at the target, pulled back the cable and whoosh…a complete miss and straight into the side of the neighbor’s house!
Needless to say, that was the end of target practice.
Another little anecdote is that the same dude who put us up, also took us on a tour of the Grand Canyon. We all loved and appreciated the scenery but Clay (Percussion/Aux) was so into it that he nearly became part of it! The biggest daredevil amongst us, Clay decided that he was going to climb down the side of one of the canyons and jump across canyon gaps. He nearly gave us all heart attacks (I was hugging the nearest tree branch wincing) but he survived and we got some amazing photographs.
Last but not least, I distinctly remember Sam (Guitar) and Clay (once again embracing his wild side) standing on a paddle board being pulled by an electric boat in the middle of the night, in the middle of a lake, in luxurious robes, smoking J’s and drinking hand-spun cocktails. Not a bad lifestyle if ya ask me.

Keep up with the band on Facebook,  Twitter, and Instagram!
