Here a little story about a tour prank that nearly went disastrous. We were at our sold-out show at Liverpool academy, and we came off stage greeted with a few bottles of champagne (big thanks to SJM.) Safe to say we were celebrating in typical Sherlocks style by getting hammered. Everyone was proper buzzing because of the sold-out tour so it was a particularly rowdy night/tour.
We drank and danced in the dressing room with classic tunes on till the early hours of the morning and then carried it on to the tour bus. The tunes were still blasting out and the bottles of spirits got sparked by the tour manager, everyone on the team got poured a quadruple rum/gin or two.
We were flying down the motorway, the party carried on until one or two people were going to bed. After a couple of hours, nearly everyone had gone to bed until Kiaran and Josh were the last ones standing. We were making our way to bed when we decided to play a prank on Andy who had been asleep a while, we saw a fan heater pointing down towards the bunks as it was quite a cold night.
We decided to put the heater in his bunk and close the curtains, as you can see on the video the thing sparks as we put it in, we intended to have another drink and take it out after 10-15 minutes. We woke up the next day in Leeds realizing we’d forgotten about it. We opened Andy’s bunk expecting to find nothing but charred remains thankfully he was fine apart from being laid in a puddle of his own sweat. Thinking back we were lucky the curtain on the bunk didn’t set on fire. We apologized for almost killing him and then we all headed to down to soundcheck where we were playing a sold-out Yorkshire show in Leeds O2 Academy. Fun times!
