The metalcore band, Sirens and Sailors, is currently on “The Predatour” with Ice Nine Kills, Famous Last Words, Erra and Chasing Safety. While they’re on this tour, the band will be writing an exclusive blog for us. You can check out the band’s second entry, with pictures, after the break.
While today was rather uneventful as compared to our last blog, it still had its highlights. We had stayed at our good friend’s house in Dallas last night, and stayed up into the wee hours of the morning, partying with Chasing Safety and Erra. Unfortunately we had to wake up and leave the house by 10am in order to make it to the next venue on time. We awoke this morning and sluggishly gathered our belongings we had brought in with us. We are all completely exhausted. While we still have enough time to get there right at load in, we’re running behind schedule and have to book it. There was just enough time to stop for our first “Sonic” meal of the tour and wolf down a couple breakfast sandwiches on the way. We all laid down in our designated areas and start to drift back to sleep while Jimm makes the trek to Houston. 15 minutes into the drive, we get pulled over – for going “67 in a 65″…? Then a second cop shows up as the first is taking all of our IDs and ask Jimm to step outside and open the trailer. About 20 minutes go by, and the cops realize that we don’t have 20 pounds of meth in the trailer, so they come back to crack a few jokes with us, and let us on our way. While avoiding a ticket puts us in a good mood, we are now going to be late, which we hate. We all take pride in being to the venue well before we are supposed to be just about every show. So we have to roll. Getting closer to Houston, traffic holds us back even farther, but we eventually make it to the venue 30 minutes before doors. We hustle as fast as we can to get everything loaded in, only to find out 2 of the other touring bands vehicles had broken down 20 miles from the venue – guess it could always be worse. After this point it was a fairly normal evening. Had a good show, met some awesome people, and ate some delicious Tex Mex generously brought to us by one of Jimm’s old friends from school. All in all the day was a success. We said goodbye to all of our friends, old and new, and begin to make the Journey to Douglasville GA, which is a draining 13 hours away. Glad it’s not my turn to drive!
