Skindred – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

We played Hellfest in France a couple of years ago – a great festival in front of a great crowd. On our day, ZZ Top headlined. We hung around after we played, drinking and hanging out with friends we hadn’t seen in a while. When ZZ Top played, Arya and Mikey made their way over to the stage to watch, only to find out ZZ Top had a closed stage, so no one without a ZZ Top pass was watching on the stage. When stopped by the local French security, Arya pointed towards Mikey and said, “but this is Billy Gibbons’ brother”. The security guard instantly profusely apologized “monsieur Gibbons, I am so sorry!” and let them both through! They watched a couple of songs before guilt hit and made their way back to the backstage bar area where we proceeded to drink until bus call. It’s always great to see friends and artists you’ve toured with at various festivals – even though months pass in-between, it feels like no time at all and it’s always great to hang out.
