Skinlab – 1st ROAD BLOG from the “Twenty Years In The Trenches Tour” with 36 Crazyfists

The groove metal band, Skinlab, is currently on their “Twenty Years In The Trenches Tour” with 36 Crazyfists, All Hail The Yeti and Incite. While they’re on this tour, their guitarist, Provo, will be doing an exclusive blog for us. You can check out his first entry, after the break.

What’s up everybody! My name is Provo and I am the guitar player for Skinlab and EVERYBODY PANIC! I’m currently out with Skinlab on the “Twenty Years In The Trenches Tour,” along with 36 Crazyfists, All Hail The Yeti and Incite. The tour is 3 and a half weeks long and primarily on the West Coast. We’re rolling in this bad ass custom RV thanks to our amazing friends at Cavigold Records!

First stop for the tour was in South Lake Tahoe at Whiskey Dicks on Halloween night. For the most part, everybody on the tour has already known each other for a while, so the day was filled with a lot of catching up with old friends and meeting the new ones. The crowd showed up early and for the most part, in costume. They kept the energy going all night! We had a long drive to Portland, so we didn’t stay long after the show.

Day two was in Portland, OR at the Ash St Saloon. This show was insane! If it wasn’t sold out, it was really close because it was packed wall to wall with people. All the bands sounded incredible and we ended up all partying pretty late. Then, of course, when in Portland you have to end the night with a little Voodoo Doughnuts!

Day 3 started with a BLOWOUT on our way to The Hop in Spokane, WA! I woke up to the sound of a tire exploding and the smell of burning rubber! Since it was a Sunday and because of where we were, we were stuck on the side of the road for 3 hours. Luckily, the view was nice! We showed up late to the show, but when we got there all of our Cavigold Records friends were already there. The crowd was badass and were banging their heads and throwing down from start to finish! After the show, we after partied at our friend Lenny’s where we also got fed and our first showers!

Day 4 was at El Corazon in Seattle, WA. We all had a bunch of friends out for this one and the crowd was bad ass, again! There was also some of the best food of the tour, thanks to Mary’s Kitchen, inside the club. We were supposed to go hang at The Smokers Club Tour (Method Man, Red Man, B-Real), but we got out too late, so we just ended up going to our friend Scott’s, from Cavigold Records, house and after partying there all night.
