Skinlab – 2nd ROAD BLOG from the “Twenty Years In The Trenches Tour” with 36 Crazyfists

The groove metal band, Skinlab, is currently on their “Twenty Years In The Trenches Tour” with 36 Crazyfists, All Hail The Yeti and Incite. While they’re on this tour, their guitarist, Provo, will be doing an exclusive blog for us. You can check out his second entry, after the break.

Day 5 was our first and only day off for this tour! We stayed in Seattle and hung at the Cavigold Compound for most of the day. We got the official tour of the facility. They printed us up some new “20 Years” shirts for the tour and also did a quick photo shoot for the band.

Day 6 was in Redding, CA at Bombay’s. It was a long drive in from Seattle, but we still managed to show up early. We met up with 36 and yeti at a bar across the street and had a few beers before load in. Bombay’s was definitely the smallest venue/stage to this point, but it was a great time! We had some friends, that came to the Portland show, show up here too! We didn’t stay long after the show cause we had to stop back through the bay area to pick some gear up.

Day 7 was in Santa Barbara at the Velvet Jones. This was a cool club with an awesome rock n roll vibe! We had some old friends show up to hang! My personal favorite part was the bad ass mac n cheese they fed us! After the show all the bands parked down by the beach and partied all night!

Day 8 was In San Diego at The Brick By Brick. I love this venue and city! I played here a few times in my old band and lived in SD for a little while too! This show was one of the best shows of the tour! There was an amazing crowd and also our friends Gene Hoglan and Travis Neal came to hang! Our friends from Coldcock Whiskey also brought us a couple bottles to party with!

Day 9 was in LA at Los Globos. This show was incredible! A bunch of big names were in the crowd from Soulfly, Devildriver, Butcher Babies, Spineshank and more! The crowd was amazing and definitely kept the energy up all night. Overall it was a great night!

Day 10 was Scottsdale, AZ at Pub Rock. This was a killer Sunday show! Tons of old friends came out to hang! We partied pretty hard all night then scored some Blacktooth Barbecue to end the night!
This tour has been an amazing experience so far! All of the bands and crew are super professional and just all around bad asses! It’s an honor to share the stage with such great bands every night! The crowds have been incredible as well! Banging their heads, mosh pits, singing along and going through what we’ve been calling “the car wash” (just imagine a few feet of dreads and your face colliding).
